My Thoughts - Stuart Fails to Save the Universe: Spoiler: We're as Confused as You Are (9/10/2026)

Synopsis: After briefly spending time as centaurs, Stuart (Kevin Sussman) and company travel to another war-torn universe to retrieve the device that has the missing piece. He instead loses their device after they are put on the front lines and the four soon face a firing squad after they refuse to fight.


My Thoughts - 

Am I the only one who was disappointed we didn't see more of the centaur universe? I think that one had so much potential, but they don't even bother exploring it or learning about the implications that don't involve comic book superheroes being half-horse/half-man.

The episode wasn't subtle about the writers' feelings about war. I don't know which I liked more, the suicidal battle plan that mostly consisted of Gary (Tommy Walker) and others charging into bullets with no other apparent strategy or the fact nobody really seemed to know why they were fighting the war other than the enemy having "the wrong family, wrong country and wrong god."

Captain Richards' (Dean Norris) "pep talk" was the best. First of all, it was a good use of a secondary character from The Big Bang Theory, placing him in pretty much the same role he had in that series, albeit under significantly different circumstances. It was probably just me, but I thought his encouraging words about how the battle will inspire future overweight men to reenact it was one of the funniest things about this episode, along with his beforementioned reasons for fighting the war.

I also liked how the episode used TBBT alum Joshua Malina. His performance as their reluctant and inept lawyer brought out all the qualities that made Caltech President Siebert memorable.

I was, however, undecided about Penny's (Kaley Cuoco) cameo. It's basically the same complaint I've had about Bernadette's (Melissa Rauch) appearances, other than a career change, it's basically the same character. Why not change it up and have Penny be a well-known physicist and that universe's version of Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) complete with all the quirks?

That said, I did like her being turned into a centaur.

It was good to see a glimpse of "evil" Barry (John Ross Bowie). Evil might actually be a bit harsh, so I'll change it to practical Barry, the one member of the group who wasn't afraid to shoot his commanding officer in the back to keep them from being forced to charge into battle. I think there are times when the show forgets he is from a universe where he was a powerful and opportunistic tyrant who personally killed Raj (Kunal Nayyar) and instead just focuses on him being a pervert.

The title wasn't wrong. I was once again left confused about their travels. Did they encounter different universe versions of themselves last week or were they just encountering themselves at different points in their timeline? I hope that gets clarified better.

Final Opinion: I still would have rather seen the centaur world, but the episode was cleverly written and had some solid TBBT cameos, so I did enjoy it.

Kwik Trip Kitchen Cravings Tailgater Pizza

  When my wife and I decided on pizza for dinner last night, I stopped at Kwik Trip with the intention of just buying a cheap, frozen, cheese pizza for our daughters since we already had another pizza in our freezer. However, as I was walking up to the checkout counter, this particular pizza caught my eye and, even though I wasn't crazy about spending $8.99 when I already had another option at home, I was intrigued enough to make the purchase anyway. We ended up making the pizza in the oven when I got home. After trying it, I have to say it is one of my favorites. One of the things, in particular, that really stood out for me when it came to this pizza was the toppings. The combination of sausage and cheese curds was both unique and delicious, especially since the curds were fresh enough to still squeak when we were eating them. I didn't have anything planned this Labor Day except to mow my lawn. The rain we got mid-week resulted in the grass being tall/thick enough to burn through the batteries so, while waiting for them to recharge, I wound up using my camera to get some photos of the birds visiting the bird feeder in the front yard, including a yet-to-be-identified furry bird. Jen's Family Table Sloppy Joe Meat

  I had been eying this product at Kwik Trip for a few weeks now and, needing something for dinner last night, decided to finally purchase it (though, admittedly, my first plan was to get their taco meat, which ended up being sold out). After trying it, my opinion wound up being mixed. There were a couple things I really liked about this product. One of the main ones was the price. A 1-pound package cost $3.49. A pound of hamburger currently costs about $5, and that's only if I happen to find it on sale. When you add in the cost of a can of sloppy Joe sauce , this product ends up costing half as much as the way we usually make sloppy Joes. I also found I liked the convenience. Since the meat is already cooked, all I had to do was warm it up in the microwave for a couple minutes rather than frying the burger, draining the grease, and adding the can of sauce. The pre-cooked meat also meant I was getting what I was purchasing, it didn't cook down into a smaller quantity. Taste-wis...
