It was kind of foggy out this morning, but I decided to get out with my camera before heading into the office anyway. I stuck to the shoreline this time around, mostly because the grass in the park was soaked with dew and I didn't want wet socks, and it turned out to be a good choice, even if the fog prevented me from getting photos of the pelicans out on the lake. I had some extra time before needing to go into the office this morning, so I took my camera and went out by the lake. My morning consisted mostly of taking photos of ducks, though I did get a photo of a muskrat hauling a stick - which let me put my zoom lens to the test because he kept quite a bit of distance from me. That one isn't my best, but you can at least make out its furry body. It was a nice day out today (though a little cool this morning) so I managed to get a couple walks in today with my camera. Here are some of the photos I got.

I didn't have a cooperation when I was out taking photos today, both at lunch and this evening. When my subjects weren't swimming/flying away from me, the lighting just didn't work out. I did manage to get a couple shots though. Here they are.  

I shared the woodchuck photo from lunch yesterday but didn't get around to sharing the photos I took yesterday morning while on my walk by Beaver Dam Lake. Here they are:

The sun is coming up early enough now for me to squeeze in an early morning walk by the lake. I took my camera with me and managed to get a couple photos then, at lunch, went out again and walked a hidden trail at the park that is only accessible around this time of year, before the trees get leaves and block it from view. It's been mostly the usual suspects this week, robins, geese, etc. But I got a couple spring-like photos while I was at it too. Here you go:

I managed to get a walk in by the lake early this morning before the rain hit and was pleased to see a group of goslings on the shore, a sign spring is here. Below are some photos I took.

It took me a moment to figure out what these were. They were on the far side of the pond and all I saw was white. I counted a dozen of them scattered around total.

After a couple days of temperatures that were nice enough to be outside grilling (and taking family walks), I woke up to a bit of a rude awakening with winter-like temps once again. I decided to tough them out though and went for a short walk along the lake. There wasn't much to see, other than some geese and one or two very shy killdeer. But, I still managed to get a few photos.

I didn't have a lot of time for a walk this morning but did get a quick one in by the lake before heading into the office. While walking I saw this pair of geese standing on the ice. At first, I thought maybe they were decoys because they didn't move. But, once I got close enough for the photo, they were moving and making all sorts of noise.

It's warming up enough for me to at least attempt to take a lunchtime walk today (depending on how much mud there is). As a preview to that, I did go out before coming into the office and took a couple photos of some geese resting on our still-frozen lake. They were quite a distance away and I wasn't brave/stupid enough to try to walk on the ice. But, I did manage to get these.

The weather has been nice enough to go for a walk at lunch. However, thanks to all that rain we had, the mosquitoes are pretty much unbearable right now so, other than a failed attempt yesterday (I lasted all of 10 minutes), I haven't been going. I have, however, been still getting the occasional photo before heading into the office in the morning. Here is a selection of those (as well as one I did manage to take before giving up on my walk yesterday).

Just some pelicans I saw this morning before heading into the office. Fortunately, I had my camera with me this time.

I haven't been taking my camera with me when I go on my morning walks and, instead, concentrate on picking up aluminum cans along the shoreline. However, I do still have my camera in my car and, when I saw a pod of pelicans, I was quick to grab it and managed to get some photos of them as well as a couple others.
