To be clear, I'm not complaining. I would much rather have it be hot and humid outside than cold and damp. However, it does feel a bit as though Wisconsin once again skipped spring this year or at minimum, had a very abbreviated season. In any case, I did get out for a walk today and, unlike yesterday, when the weather was identical, but I saw very few signs of life, I did manage to get some photos. It rained yesterday so I didn't get a chance to get out with my camera but made up for it today, even stepping off the trails a few times to see if I could get something unique. My Kodak AZ425 is starting to show signs of wear after years of use and I had a few early issues with the autofocus not wanting to focus on anything I was trying to get a photo of. However, I did manage to get some photos in spite of that (it may be time for me to thoroughly clean the lens and sensor again). I apologize in advance for the multiple robin photos. It's still a little cooler out than I'd prefer the middle of May to be, but I managed to get out for a walk just the same. There wasn't a whole lot of activity this time, mostly because the lone garter snake I saw managed to slither into the taller grass before I could get a photo and several frogs hid under the water the second they saw me. I did, however, manage to get a few photos. My wife, who is on her summer break from being a teacher assistant, joined me on my lunchtime walk today and while we were on a hill, we spotted this large turtle near the street. By the time we got down to where it was, it was trying to cross so I watched for cars/directed traffic while she did her part to encourage it to move a little quicker to the other side.  Once safely across, we got our photos. A few minutes later, after we walked away, it apparently decided it didn't like that side of the street and crossed back. It was safely resting in the grass when we drove past.

Considering this is one of the very few spring days we've had that was both sunny and not super windy, I was a little surprised when there wasn't anyone else at the park when I was there. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. I do like being able to get my walk in without someone being ahead of me and scaring off my photos. Here are some of the shots I took today:

The weather was nice enough for me to get a walk in today, even though the park was still somewhat flooded from melted snow and recent rain. Here are some of the photos I took:

It was warm enough for some of the turtles to come out during my walk at lunch today. Since it'll probably be the last time I'll see them until spring, so I made sure to include them in my photos.

I haven't seen too many turtles the past few days, which is a bit surprising considering it's been hot and sunny out. But, I did come across these two while walking at lunch.

There were quite a few frogs out today (being loud, as usual) so I decided to take a few minutes and get some extra photos of them for your enjoyment.

I was a little surprised I managed to get this photo. I was making a lot more noise walking up that trail than I would have liked and, even when I'm quiet, the turtles are usually in the water long before I get this close to their rock. But, this one hung out on it long enough for me to snap the picture.

I didn't see too much on my lunchtime walk today. The park wasn't overly crowded or anything. But, they had just mowed the trails so I think that sent most of the critters scurrying into the taller grass. As I was walking, however, I did come across a couple frogs and was able to get photos of them.
