OK Sun, You Can Come Out Any Day Now.

We did manage to have a couple decent, sunny days this weekend but, once again, the clouds are out and we're getting rain. Normally, I wouldn't care too much because I need the rain to make my garden grow. But, my plants also need some sun. In fact, I could use a little myself. I might have to start taking Vitamin D pills again at this rate.

I Have a Lake Forming in My Back Yard

We've had quite a bit of rain dumped down on us since yesterday evening and, since the ground is still frozen, there really isn't any place for it to go. As a result, I'm getting a fairly deep puddle of water where my back yard used to be. On the bright side, I don't have a basement so I don't have to worry about water in that. However, I am a little concerned about my mower and everything else in my shed since the water is right up to the door of that.

Lightning Storm Last Night

We ended up getting a somewhat nasty storm during the night last night (lots of lightning and rain) but, fortunately, didn't suffer any damage as a result of it. I was able to capture a video of the lightning as the storm approached. Sorry about the voices in the background. Someone was apparently throwing a party up the street from me and, even though they were a block away, they were loud to the point it sounded like they were standing right next to me.

Sure is Dark and Scary Out This Morning

I had to run some errands before coming into the office this morning and barely made it back to my car before it started to downpour outside. We are under a flash flood watch pretty much all day today because they are expecting periods of intense rain. I believe it. I could barely see the road when driving to the office after running my errands.

Oh Look, More Rain Clouds

This is the view from outside my office on a day that was supposed to be cool but mostly sunny out. I've lost track of the number of days we've had rain this summer (it's beginning to feel like all of them). But, if it keeps up, I feel as though I'm going to have a decision to make - Should I attempt to build and ark or should I attempt to grow gills?
