Review: I came across this film Sunday morning and, thinking it looked like it would at least be entertaining, wound up watching it with my wife that evening. Unfortunately, while it wasn't the worst slasher flick I've seen, it also wasn't anything special. I don't use the phrase "paint-by-number" very often, but that description fits this movie perfectly. Synopsis: Alexandria, The Hilltop and The Kingdom find themselves on the defensive after the saviors escape and Negan ( Jeffrey Dean Morgan ) begins to carry out his revenge. The mid-season finale first aired 12/10/2017. My Thoughts: 1. Are they seriously killing off Carl ( Chandler Riggs )? If so, I can't say I approve of that decision. The show definitely needs to kill off characters. But, I would much rather see the series kill off Rick ( Andrew Lincoln ) and some of the older stars so it can phase in some fresh blood. While I, admittedly, haven't always been a huge fan of Carl Grimes, I do think his character had a lot of unfulfilled potential and, unless there's some sort of twist (such as him being immune to a zombie bite), he won't ever get a chance to reach that full potential. 2. Synopsis: After joining forces with the Kingdom and the Hilltop, Rick ( Andrew Lincoln ) leads an attack on Negan ( Jeffrey Dean Morgan ) and the Saviors while dreaming about what the world will be like in the future. The episode first aired October 22, 2017. My Thoughts: 1. This episode made me wonder if maybe the writers are going to phase out and possibly kill off Rick at some point this season. Part of this is his obvious desire for a peaceful life (something that is just not going to happen, at least until they decide to end the series). But, he also made it clear he wants to pass the leadership torch to Maggie ( Lauren Cohen ). 2. To tell you the truth, if that is the case, I think it's time. Rick, in my opinion at least, became boring a few seasons ago. Unless the writers do something to give him some new life (maybe having him betray his friends and join Negan?)
