Final Thoughts From the Law & Order: SVU Episode "The Undiscovered Country"

Synopsis: A complicated kidnapping case involving an infant that requires life support to live results in Rafael Barba (Raul Esparza) taking the initiative and pulling the plug on the child. While he feels he made the right decision, both for the infant and its family, he also faces prison time for second-degree murder and must hope for a jury to acquit him. Thoughts From the Law & Order: SVU Episode "Gone Baby Gone"

Synopsis: When Noah ( Ryan Buggle ) goes missing while shopping with his grandmother, Sheila ( Brooke Shields ), a frantic Benson ( Mariska Hargitay ) and her team pull out all stops in an effort to locate him. When she learns the kidnapping isn't random, Benson takes it upon herself to retrieve her son. My Thoughts: 1. I  probably shouldn't have been, but I was genuinely surprised when Benson and her team discovered Sheila was behind the kidnapping from the start. While that thought did, admittedly, cross my mind when Noah went missing, her initial reaction was very believable and I honestly thought she was as shaken up by his kidnapping as anyone. 2. I also have to applaud just how much thought she put into her plan. In addition to a great acting job, she took several steps to hinder the investigation, including giving the detectives the description of another man in the mall, having the kidnapper, Juan ( Frank Pando ) pretend to take a bus and, just in case he was ...

Law & Order: SVU Episode Review: Intent

Synopsis: When a social media star is raped by a MMA fighter, Benson ( Mariska Hargitay ) and team step in to investigate. However, when the evidence doesn't quite add up, they begin to suspect the victim and her rapist were scammed by an online "catfish" hoax. They are able to catch the perpetrator but must prove her intentions in order to get a conviction. The episode first aired December 5, 2017 Review: My wife and I are slowly catching up on our TV shows and finally had a chance to watch this fall finale last night. At first, I wasn't really sure if it would be all that interesting, especially since the episode let us witness the rape (eliminating any doubt it happened). But, I must admit, it was better than I was expecting it to be. The twist with the catfish prank was definitely an interesting one, both because of the difficulty they faced prosecuting it and because the person who committed the crime ( Tenea Intriago ) seemed likable to the point it l...

Thoughts from the Law & Order: SVU Episode "Gone Fishin'"

Synopsis: Fin ( Ice-T ) captures a fugitive rapist ( Will Chase ) in Cuba. However, his questionable tactics may result in an international incident and the rapist being set free. A misunderstanding with Noah ( Ryan Buggle ) leads to Olivia ( Mariska Hargitay ) being investigated for child abuse. My Thoughts : 1. Olivia being accused of child abuse at the end of this episode wasn't that much of a surprise. The season 19 premiere pretty much set that up from the start, including having Noah make some comments (about wanting his Nanny as his mom) that has the potential to provoke a negative response. And, the second someone mentioned his bruises, it wasn't hard to figure out it was likely from her pulling him from out in front of that taxi. 2. I'm undecided about the whole child abuse investigation story line. However, I'm very disappointed by the decision to once again bring back Cassidy ( Dean Winters ) as the surprise from her past. I've never been a fan o...
