Lunchtime Walk Photos (9/10/2024)

Image
I'm not looking forward to winter being around the corner, but these mild September days aren't so bad. At least I can go for a walk without being swarmed by a bunch of mosquitos most days now.  Anyway, I managed to get out with the camera today and, other than just missing a blue heron that stayed well-hidden up until the point it took off and didn't let me get a pic, I had a moderately successful walk. Here are some of the photos.

The weather was nice enough for me to get a walk in today, even though the park was still somewhat flooded from melted snow and recent rain. Here are some of the photos I took:

It's sunny and somewhat warm out today but also very windy. As a result of that (and because I forgot to grab my jacket), I wound up cutting my walk somewhat short. I did, however, manage to get a couple photos while out.

It's been too cold at night to plant my garden. But, fortunately, it has been warm enough during the day for me to get outside a bit. I got another walk in at lunch. Here are some of the photos.

It was beautiful weather today so I decided to duck out at lunch to see if I could get some photos. Overall, I think I was successful. Here is a selection:

Snake Photo (Well, Most of One Anyway)

Image
At first, I thought this snake was dead because, even though I didn't spot it until I was almost on top of it, it didn't budge. Plus, I couldn't find its head (it's not uncommon to find beheaded snakes after they mow the paths). However, as it turns out, it was still alive. It was just busy trying to catch a grasshopper that had hidden itself in the dirt. It pretty much ignored me as a result. But, unfortunately, I couldn't get a better photo because, by the time I got in a better position, it had its lunch and was slithering into the taller grass.
