Lunchtime Walk Photos 8/16/2018

So, I made a small mistake today. I wasn't planning on going for a walk at lunch because it looked like it would rain. However, the sun came out and I decided to go after all. Since the walk wasn't in my original plan, I didn't bother charging my camera battery. But, I thought there would be enough juice left in it so I didn't worry too much about it. As it turns out, the battery was lower than I thought it was and, as a result of that, I ended up missing a couple photos because I had to turn it off to preserve what battery life it had left. Despite that, I did manage to get a few photos today. Here are some of them:

Heron Video

Since I had a little extra time while out on my walk, I decided to get a video of the heron as it was looking for something to snack on. I'm sorry for the video being a bit shaky. My arms were already getting tired from walking in the 90ish degree temps and, since I didn't have my tripod with, I had to hold the camera.

Some Heron Photos

The shoreline was somewhat busy this morning when I went for my walk and, because of that, I wasn't able to see as much on the lake as I normally would that early. However, as I was walking, I spotted this heron standing along the far end of the shore. It was surprisingly cooperative and I was able to get close to it and get quite a few photos without it flying away (though there were a couple times when it was definitely considering it). After getting my photos, I walked away and it went about its business again.

It was a bit foggy out when I went for my walk this morning and, because of that, it was kind of difficult to get good photos. As a result, I mostly just went on my walk so I could pick up cans. I did, however, spot this heron standing on the shoreline and was able to get a photo of it before it spotted me and flew off.

I had some extra time this morning so, before heading into the office, I decided to brave the dew (remembering, too late, I should have brought a change of socks) and walk the trails this morning. At first, I didn't see too much in terms of wildlife. But, as I was about to get back in my car, I noticed this heron hiding near the edge of the nearby pond. I think it was fishing.
