My Thoughts - Stuart Fails to Save the Universe: Spoiler: Corn is Delicious (8/27/2026)
Synopsis: Stuart (Kevin Sussman) and the gang end up in a dimension where humans are descended from cows, are vegetarians and have four stomachs. Despite the oddity, Stuart convinces Denise (Lauren Lapkus) to give up on his mission, stay there and get married even as the universe begins to implode.
My Thoughts:
The four-stomach thing was clever but also got repetitive after a while. My wife wants to go on record as saying she thought it was disgusting. I thought it was funny at first but also started to feel as though it was the only cow-related joke the writers could come up with. Jokes about herd mentality were right there for the taking.
We are six episodes in, and I am still confused about one part of their inter-dimensional travel. Do they replace their alternate selves in each dimension, or do they become that dimension's version of themselves but maintain the memories of the other dimensions? If it is the former, then why did they end up with four stomachs and what happened to the versions they replaced? If it is the latter, then are the previous dimensions just left without their characters once they leave? Bert (Brian Posehn) and Barry (John Ross Bowie) weren't replaced when they left.
I get Stuart wanting to just forget about his mission, but it already kind of feels as though he already did. When is the last time they attempted to find a version of Sheldon (Jim Parsons), Leonard (Johnny Galecki) or Howard (Simon Helberg) to help them with the device? Heck, they had a version of Raj (Kunar Nayyar) in this episode and just let him rant on about the universe imploding.
And I'm sorry, but I just can't let the Denise thing slide. Again, she's not the same Denise. She's a version from a completely different reality. I'm just not OK with the idea of him marrying her when his real girlfriend is in a completely different dimension.
Final Opinion: It was a unique episode but not one of my favorites, mostly because it was the same repetitive cud joke over and over and raised more questions about the overall concept than it answered.
My Grade: C+
