It is a pretty nice day out today so, even though the trails at the park are still a little on the muddy side, I decided to risk it and get a walk in.  Here are some of the photos I was able to get:

As hard as this should be to believe, they are actually talking snow by this weekend. So, just in case, I decided to get a walk in while the weather was nice enough to allow for it. I decided to take the new boardwalk to the park today rather than driving (not necessarily because I'm in love with the $199,000 addition. I just figure I should get my money's worth) and stayed mostly near the lake instead. I did manage to get a few photos though.

It took me a moment to figure out what these were. They were on the far side of the pond and all I saw was white. I counted a dozen of them scattered around total.

The weather has been nice enough to go for a walk at lunch. However, thanks to all that rain we had, the mosquitoes are pretty much unbearable right now so, other than a failed attempt yesterday (I lasted all of 10 minutes), I haven't been going. I have, however, been still getting the occasional photo before heading into the office in the morning. Here is a selection of those (as well as one I did manage to take before giving up on my walk yesterday).

Just some pelicans I saw this morning before heading into the office. Fortunately, I had my camera with me this time.

I haven't been taking my camera with me when I go on my morning walks and, instead, concentrate on picking up aluminum cans along the shoreline. However, I do still have my camera in my car and, when I saw a pod of pelicans, I was quick to grab it and managed to get some photos of them as well as a couple others.

I saw this pelican flying around when I started my lunchtime walk today. I originally thought it was going to fly over to the lake but was pleased to discover it landed in one of the ponds instead. I was able to get a couple photos of it as a result.

I am still a little sore from walking with my daughter's ice skating float in the Columbus 4th of July Parade yesterday (that, and from mowing the lawn the night before). But, I still managed to slip in a quick walk along the lake this morning despite the fact it was kind of gloomy out and looked like we would get rain. Here are some of the photos I was able to take:

It was only supposed to be cloudy today (at least according to the weather report I saw). However, I (correctly) suspected we would get rain so I squeezed in a short walk before going into the office this morning. It was dark and gloomy out, something that always makes it difficult to get high-quality photos. But, I did manage to get a few.

I saw some pelicans flying over top of me yesterday and decided to stop by the lake this morning to see if I could spot any. Even though the water still had a thin layer of ice on it, there was one that was hanging out near shore and I was able to get a photo of it as well as some other birds.
