I always feel bad when I wake Stormcloud up and move her so I can sit down. Then I remember she is getting free room and board in exchange for keeping mice and other unwanted intruders out of the house. Stormcloud has been at her station early this morning, guarding our house from the birds and, more importantly, squirrels that dare to visit the patio table bird feeder.  She's doing a great job.   They must have been cold. I don't normally see Echo and Stormcloud on our bed at the same time and almost never that close together. It didn't last long. Echo and Stormy swiped my seat yesterday when I got up to get a drink. I saw a hawk this morning but it was gone by the time I got my camera. So, I snapped this photo of Mouse instead.

Just a photo of Mouse as he hung out on the back of the couch this morning.

Another photo shared by my wife this morning. She apparently put this box on the couch and Echo claimed it as his own. It didn't matter if he actually fit into it or not.

Echo ended up crawling up on the couch and taking a nap like this for a few hours. Needless to say, he was well-rested (and a bit of a pain in the butt) last night as we were waiting for midnight.

They were watching a crow this morning as it was hopping around in one of the trees in front of our house. Mouse (the one on the left) doesn't like them at all. He gets agitated and tries to growl at them (it comes out as a clicking sound). This is kind of interesting too because he doesn't do that with the squirrels, rabbits or other birds that he sees. I'm wondering if a crow did something bad to him at one point when he was still a stray.

I woke up this morning and discovered this. Echo has plenty of food available to him right now but apparently decided he would rather have whatever he could get from the empty pizza box sitting on our stove (I think he's after the cheese that is stuck to the box). He's a stubborn kitty this morning too. I've already removed him once and he's back up there again.
