Movie Review: Smile 2 (2024)

Synopsis: After a lengthy hiatus to both recover from injuries she sustained in a car accident that killed her boyfriend and to treat a drug addiction, popstar Skye Riley is ready to reboot her career by going on tour. Skye reaggravates her back injury and, since she knows no doctor will prescribe her painkillers because of her addiction, tries to buy Vicodin from a drug addict, Lewis, who she discovers in a state of panic before he smiles at her then kills himself. Soon after, Skye begins suffering from insomnia and hallucinations before learning she's been possessed by a demon that will destroy her sanity until she kills herself and infects another host. Movie Review: A Cozy Christmas Inn (2022)

Synopsis: Hoping for a promotion, real estate executive Erika McNicoll travels to a small town in Alaska to purchase an inn on behalf of her boss. The inn is owned by her ex-boyfriend, Andy, who is struggling financially but is reluctant to sell and, as Erika gets a chance to learn more about the inn and the community, she has second thoughts about her mission. Review: Since we didn't have much else going on, I thought lunch would be a good opportunity for my wife and I to get caught up on some of our Christmas movie watching. I picked this one at random and, overall, it was an OK but not very memorable film. There were some things about the movie that I did like, such as some of the charming townspeople and a solid performance by Fox as Erika's (Sweetin) Scrooge-like boss. Synopsis: Emily finally ends things with her jerk of a boyfriend only to discover he changed the lease on their apartment, so it was under just his name. Needing a place to stay, she visits her parents, who live in a Christmas-obsessed community, only to discover they are going to Florida to look for a new home. She stays at their house anyway, hoping to at least get a chance to rest and reset following her breakup.
