I'm a bit sore this morning as a result, but at least I don't have to worry about that over the weekend now. It was a bit like mowing a hay field yesterday evening. Between the rain and warm weather, that grass really shot up and it was slow going as a result. I still use a push mower on my decent-sized lawn and, since the self propel function doesn't work any more, that just made it even tougher. Despite that, I was done in about 90 minutes. I was even nice enough to spare a toad's life yesterday. I saw it hopping in front of me and took the time to stop, catch it and put it some place safe. Well, I suppose I should now get my sore body off of the couch and get my day started.

After having to turn our furnace back on yesterday and then suffer from the dreariness that normally comes with dark, cold and rainy weather, I'm hoping the sun manages to fight through the clouds today, even if it is just for a couple hours. My lawn is in desperate need of being mowed but, with all the rain we've had, I need it to have an opportunity to dry out a bit. Otherwise, I'm going to be mowing through mud and having to unclog the mower every few feet. As a result, I'm not really sure what I plan on doing today. I may just wind up getting stuff done inside the house.
