Movie Review: Scrooge (1970)

Image
Synopsis: Rich miser Ebenezer Scrooge hates Christmas and his fellow man. On the night of Christmas Eve, he is visited by the ghost of his dead business partner, Jacob Marley, who warns Scrooge of three spirits that will visit him during the night in an attempt to convince him to change his ways before it is too late. Who's in it? The movie stars Albert Finney , Alec Guinness , Kenneth More and Edith Evans. Review: I wasn’t really planning on watching any Christmas movies yesterday afternoon. However, I couldn’t find anything good on TV and, since it had been a long while since I saw Scrooge , I decided to give it a chance. For the most part, I didn't regret that decision. In all honesty, as a musical, this movie does lack a little something. The songs just weren’t that catchy and made the movie drag on a bit more than I normally prefer. Synopsis: Looking to boost sales at his family's London gunsmith business, Jonathan Tibbs travels to America to sell weapons in the wild west and arrives in Fractured Jaw, a town that is caught in the middle of a violent land feud. When he tells residents he is in the "gun business," they assume he means he is a gunslinger and, after a night of drinking, Tibbs accidentally agrees to be sheriff. The only person who knows the truth about Tibbs is the local saloon owner, Kate, who falls in love with him while trying to teach him how to shoot a gun. Who's in it? The movie stars Kenneth More , Jayne Mansfield , Henry Hull , Bruce Cabot and William Campbell. Review: I came across The Sheriff of Fractured Jaw  a few days ago and since the description reminded me a bit of one of my favorite Don Knotts' movies, The Shakiest Gun in the West , I decided to add it to my library. I ended up watching it this morning and it turned out to be an entertaining film. I think the ...

Synopsis: While attending to the android double he designed, scientist Tom Trimble is accidentally launched into space at the speed of light and travels back in time to Medieval England where he meets a beautiful maiden and saves King Arthur's kingdom from the evil Sir Mordred. Who's in it? The movie stars Dennis Dugan , Jim Dale , Sheila White , Kenneth More and Ron Moody . Review: My wife and daughters decided to go out shopping and, since I was home by myself for a couple hours, I decided to finally watch this movie on Disney Plus. I faintly remember seeing this film when I was younger (about 5 or 6) but didn't remember much about it. After seeing it again, I have to say I enjoyed it a lot more than I was expecting. The plot itself was relatively simple and mostly involved Trimble (Dugan) trying to convince people he wasn't some sort of monster while using modern technology and science to avoid being killed before ultimately gaining Arthur's (More) t...
