Image
Synopsis: Stricken with a disabling blood disease since childhood, Dr. Michael Morbius seeks to cure it by splicing vampire bat and human DNA. His illegal experiment works but also turns him into a living vampire that needs human blood to survive. Who's in it? The movie stars Jared Leto , Matt Smith , Adria Arjona , Jared Harris and Tyrese Gibson . Review: Since my mom's birthday was on Tuesday, we delayed our family movie night until last night and, after scrolling through several options, my daughter and I decided to give this one a try, both from the description and who starred in it. It was an OK film but not quite what I was expecting it to be. I was never into comic books so, while I had heard of Morbius, I didn't really know a whole lot about the Marvel character, including whether he was a hero, villain or anti-hero. Synopsis: Ellie, an aspiring fashion designer attending school in London, has a 6th sense that allows her to sometimes see her deceased mother. Bullied by the other women in her dorm, Ellie decides to rent a room from the elderly Ms. Collins and, while sleeping, begins to have visions of Sandy, a singer and former tenant from the 1960s. Inspired by Sandy's seemingly glamorous life, Ellie changes her appearance to look like her and uses Sandy as her inspiration when designing her clothes. However, as her visions continue, she realizes Sandy's life wasn't what it first seemed and, as the apparitions seem to follow her throughout London, she becomes convinced Sandy was murdered and her killer is still out there. Who's in it? The movie stars Thomasin McKenzie , Anya Taylor-Joy , Matt Smith , Diana Rigg and Michael Ajao . Review: I came across this movie at our local library last week and, even though I had heard of it, didn't know a whole lot about it. I decided to c...

Doctor Who Episode Review: The Woman Who Fell to Earth

Synopsis: A newly-regenerated Doctor ( Jodie Whittaker ) struggles to remember her name and other details about who she is but, with an assist from some new companions, still helps save humans from a tooth-collecting alien hunter ( Samuel Oatley ). Review: The Green Bay Packers weren't doing so hot yesterday afternoon so, instead of watching the game, my wife, oldest daughter and I wound up tuning in to the global broadcast of this season 11 premiere. And, I have to say, overall, I was very impressed with what I saw. As I've mentioned in the past, I was excited to see a female version of the Doctor but also was curious in what sort of direction they would take the character. After watching last night's episode, I can honestly say I'm happy with how they are using Whittaker in this role. In many ways, she reminded me a bit of Matt Smith 's Doctor. She was quirky enough to be interesting and that quirkiness, in turn, disguised the fact she was still very in...
