After having to turn our furnace back on yesterday and then suffer from the dreariness that normally comes with dark, cold and rainy weather, I'm hoping the sun manages to fight through the clouds today, even if it is just for a couple hours. My lawn is in desperate need of being mowed but, with all the rain we've had, I need it to have an opportunity to dry out a bit. Otherwise, I'm going to be mowing through mud and having to unclog the mower every few feet. As a result, I'm not really sure what I plan on doing today. I may just wind up getting stuff done inside the house.

This is what happens when you get a lot of rain while the ground is still frozen. With the exception of a small strip up by the house, my entire back yard is currently a frozen lake. Hopefully, the yard itself will bounce back. I am, however, concerned about the stuff in my shed since I'm sure some of that is currently under water.

We've had quite a bit of rain dumped down on us since yesterday evening and, since the ground is still frozen, there really isn't any place for it to go. As a result, I'm getting a fairly deep puddle of water where my back yard used to be. On the bright side, I don't have a basement so I don't have to worry about water in that. However, I am a little concerned about my mower and everything else in my shed since the water is right up to the door of that.

I had to run some errands before coming into the office this morning and barely made it back to my car before it started to downpour outside. We are under a flash flood watch pretty much all day today because they are expecting periods of intense rain. I believe it. I could barely see the road when driving to the office after running my errands.

This is the view from outside my office on a day that was supposed to be cool but mostly sunny out. I've lost track of the number of days we've had rain this summer (it's beginning to feel like all of them). But, if it keeps up, I feel as though I'm going to have a decision to make - Should I attempt to build and ark or should I attempt to grow gills?
