Three Unanswered Questions from The Big Bang Theory

As I mentioned, I recently watched the debut episode of Stuart Fails to Save the Universe. As might be expected, leading into and shortly after, I binge watched several episodes of The Big Bang Theory, mostly to get me in the mood for the spin-off series.

In the past, I mentioned three storylines from TBBT I felt were left unresolved, including which genius got tenure and if Sheldon (Jim Parsons) ever addressed his hoarding issue. While in the middle of my re-watch of episodes I've seen dozens of times, I realized there where three more unanswered questions that, while not anything too big, did give me reason to pause.


Did Leonard (Johnny Galecki) ever get his stolen car back?



I am, of course, referring to the car theft that occurred in season 6's "The Bakersfield Expedition," while Leonard and friends were doing their Star Trek-themed photoshoot in the desert while on the way to a comic book convention. The last we see of his car in that episode is the thieves (Craig Gellis and Frank Alvarez) still joyriding in it.

Now, obviously, Leonard has a car in later episodes but is it the same one? There is no mention of the thieves being caught, the car being returned or if he was forced to use insurance money to buy a new one. In other words, it was as though it never happened.

How did Sheldon get his driver's license?



There are two things I know about Sheldon Cooper. The first is he is an eccentric genius. The other is the man cannot drive a car, as demonstrated by his friends' attempt to teach him using a simulator, getting a traffic ticket while driving Penny (Kaley Cuoco) to the hospital and his later driving lesson with Howard (Simon Helberg) that resulted in his license being taken away.

So, based on that, how the heck did he pass a driving exam?

I guess it's possible he got his license the same way he got his permit, by being annoying enough for the DMV to give it to him without a test just to get him to go away. However, he doesn't describe it that way, so the assumption would be he somehow passed despite not having any of his friends take him out in a real car to practice.

How did Penny not get offered more movie roles?


Look, I get it, getting that big acting break is hard. The show even demonstrated that in a later episode by having Penny walk into a room for an audition only to discover a couple dozen women who looked just like her. And I know she did end up having a happen ending anyway, marrying a guy who loved her, having a good paying career and ending the series pregnant.

Here's the thing though. While not a great movie, Serial Ape-ist clearly had a cult following and even resulted in her being invited to sign autographs at a comic convention. You would think that alone would have gotten her more offers, even if they were just independent movies, especially after appearing in the equally bad sequel.

Perhaps the answer to that question is obvious - she needed a better agent.

Kwik Trip Kitchen Cravings Tailgater Pizza

  When my wife and I decided on pizza for dinner last night, I stopped at Kwik Trip with the intention of just buying a cheap, frozen, cheese pizza for our daughters since we already had another pizza in our freezer. However, as I was walking up to the checkout counter, this particular pizza caught my eye and, even though I wasn't crazy about spending $8.99 when I already had another option at home, I was intrigued enough to make the purchase anyway. We ended up making the pizza in the oven when I got home. After trying it, I have to say it is one of my favorites. One of the things, in particular, that really stood out for me when it came to this pizza was the toppings. The combination of sausage and cheese curds was both unique and delicious, especially since the curds were fresh enough to still squeak when we were eating them. Jen's Family Table Sloppy Joe Meat

  I had been eying this product at Kwik Trip for a few weeks now and, needing something for dinner last night, decided to finally purchase it (though, admittedly, my first plan was to get their taco meat, which ended up being sold out). After trying it, my opinion wound up being mixed. There were a couple things I really liked about this product. One of the main ones was the price. A 1-pound package cost $3.49. A pound of hamburger currently costs about $5, and that's only if I happen to find it on sale. When you add in the cost of a can of sloppy Joe sauce , this product ends up costing half as much as the way we usually make sloppy Joes. I also found I liked the convenience. Since the meat is already cooked, all I had to do was warm it up in the microwave for a couple minutes rather than frying the burger, draining the grease, and adding the can of sauce. The pre-cooked meat also meant I was getting what I was purchasing, it didn't cook down into a smaller quantity. Taste-wis...
