Movie Review: Hellions (2015)
Synopsis: Teenager Dora gets an unexpected Halloween surprise when her doctor tells her she is pregnant. That evening, as she waits at home for her boyfriend so she can tell him the news, a group of trick-or-treating kids begin to torment her. As they grow increasingly violent, she realizes they are after her unborn child, which is now growing inside her at an abnormally fast rate.

Review: I'm not the kind of person who will skip a movie just because it has low ratings because I've found my taste in films tends to differ from most people. However, Hellions is one of those films that made me regret that decision.
I watch a lot of movies (obviously) and, every so often, I come across one that makes me think the filmmakers were doing some sort of drug, or mix of drugs, when they made it. This movie falls into that category.
To be fair, the first half of the film actually wasn't too terrible. The opening scenes were relatively short but gave pertinent information about Dora (Rose) and her life and the various trick-or-treating children (or whatever they really were) were actually kind of creepy in their costumes. I also liked how the film used a variety of coloration effects to give the movie an almost dream-like feel to it.
The problem with this movie is, from the mid-point of the film on, it becomes a confusing mess. Between her various hallucinations and a fairy tale-like scene involving a doorway in the middle of the woods, it became very difficult to follow along because it wasn't clear what was really happening to her and what was just in her imagination.
On top of it, the movie just ends. She wakes up in the hospital, wanders (unnoticed) out of her room and looks at some babies in the nursery. It was as though the film edited out the scene that supposed to be some sort of connecting scene that gave a more in-depth explanation about what those children really were and how she ended up safe in a hospital bed.
Heck, to tell you the truth, I probably would have just settled for the latter since that part really didn't make any sense.
Final Opinion: This movie started out OK and had some potential but the second half of the film was just a jumbled mess that made no sense at all. As a result, it's not a film I would recommend watching.
