Behind the Scenes at the Psycho Silo Photoshoot

My wife and I made a modeling-related road trip out of Wisconsin this past weekend, traveling to Langley, IL for Psycho Silo Saloon's annual Photo Fest. She went to model and I went along with her both to do my typical behind-the-scenes stuff and also do some one-on-one photography with her.

As it turns out, the event wasn't as fun as she was expecting it to be. The photographers she had expected to work with either didn't make it or failed to connect with her at the event and many of the other photographers were already working with their favorites. The end result was our one-on-one being pretty much the only one she did, something we both agreed didn't justify the drive and hotel stay in Annawan, IL (though we would recommend Mick's Bar and Grill if you're ever passing through that tiny community) since my strength is catching impromptu moments rather than trying to pose someone.

The rusted pickup truck reminded me of something out of a horror movie, so I had her act like someone was chasing her and she was trying to get inside.





The bird was one thing she did have fun with at the event.

Kwik Trip Kitchen Cravings Tailgater Pizza

  When my wife and I decided on pizza for dinner last night, I stopped at Kwik Trip with the intention of just buying a cheap, frozen, cheese pizza for our daughters since we already had another pizza in our freezer. However, as I was walking up to the checkout counter, this particular pizza caught my eye and, even though I wasn't crazy about spending $8.99 when I already had another option at home, I was intrigued enough to make the purchase anyway. We ended up making the pizza in the oven when I got home. After trying it, I have to say it is one of my favorites. One of the things, in particular, that really stood out for me when it came to this pizza was the toppings. The combination of sausage and cheese curds was both unique and delicious, especially since the curds were fresh enough to still squeak when we were eating them. Lunchtime Walk Photos (8/26/2026)

I wasn't able to get out for a walk yesterday because of other things being on the calendar, so I made sure to slip out for a little while today, while the weather was decent.  I didn't see as much as I would have liked but still managed to get some photos. There are a few of them below. This green heron surprised me a bit. I didn't realize it was nearby until it popped out from the grass and landed on that branch. The turtles popped out of the water as I was approaching, taking advantage of the sun while it wasn't behind the clouds. I was kind of far away on this one, even with the zoom lens but still think it turned out OK. This must have been a popular hunting spot. Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Episode Review: Contagious (2005)

Synopsis:  During a medical exam following a car accident, doctors determine a 4th-grader ( Jennette McCurdy ) has been sexually molested. She eventually gives SVU detectives a name and other victims come forward, but evidence emerges pointing to false accusations being made. Review: It's extremely cold outside today so I find myself sitting on the couch watching re-runs of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit with my wife. This one came on a little while ago and impacted me a lot more than expected. On the surface, there isn't really much about this episode that sets it apart from others in the series. However, Jennette McCurdy's performance really stands out. Her fear of naming the man who abused her seemed very real and I couldn't help but feel heartbroken as they tried to navigate through that fear to get the truth. I thought the episode had a nice surprise twist involving the man she does eventually accuse ( Daniel Hugh Kelly ), especially since the case, at least...
