Went to See a Steam Locomotive This Morning

This is one of the rare weekends when none of us had to work or had something else going on so I'm taking advantage of it and having some family time.

Tomorrow's plan is to go to the zoo. Today, we drove up the road to Horicon, WI to watch the historic SOO 1003 steam locomotive as it passed through. You can find history about this locomotive here.

We had to wait a bit longer than expected but it proved to be worth it, even if it was just for a few minutes (we could have seen it longer by going to Burnett for its coal stop, but I figured that would be too crowded). Here are some of the photos I took:

Kwik Trip Kitchen Cravings Tailgater Pizza

  When my wife and I decided on pizza for dinner last night, I stopped at Kwik Trip with the intention of just buying a cheap, frozen, cheese pizza for our daughters since we already had another pizza in our freezer. However, as I was walking up to the checkout counter, this particular pizza caught my eye and, even though I wasn't crazy about spending $8.99 when I already had another option at home, I was intrigued enough to make the purchase anyway. We ended up making the pizza in the oven when I got home. After trying it, I have to say it is one of my favorites. One of the things, in particular, that really stood out for me when it came to this pizza was the toppings. The combination of sausage and cheese curds was both unique and delicious, especially since the curds were fresh enough to still squeak when we were eating them. Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Episode Review: Contagious (2005)

Synopsis:  During a medical exam following a car accident, doctors determine a 4th-grader ( Jennette McCurdy ) has been sexually molested. She eventually gives SVU detectives a name and other victims come forward, but evidence emerges pointing to false accusations being made. Review: It's extremely cold outside today so I find myself sitting on the couch watching re-runs of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit with my wife. This one came on a little while ago and impacted me a lot more than expected. On the surface, there isn't really much about this episode that sets it apart from others in the series. However, Jennette McCurdy's performance really stands out. Her fear of naming the man who abused her seemed very real and I couldn't help but feel heartbroken as they tried to navigate through that fear to get the truth. Movie Review: Behind the Mask (1946)

Review: Even though I wasn't a big fan of the last Shadow movie I watched, I decided to give the crimefighter one more chance by watching Behind the Mask this morning. In hindsight, I probably should have watched The Shadow Returns before this sequel but I'm not so certain it would have made much of a difference. I just can't get into these films. I'll start out with the positive about this movie; it does have an OK mystery.
