We are expecting bad weather later today, so I made sure to get the trail cameras out last night, just to make sure all is well after dark. We ended up with some visitors throughout the night. Here are some of the videos:

Kwik Trip Kitchen Cravings Tailgater Pizza

  When my wife and I decided on pizza for dinner last night, I stopped at Kwik Trip with the intention of just buying a cheap, frozen, cheese pizza for our daughters since we already had another pizza in our freezer. However, as I was walking up to the checkout counter, this particular pizza caught my eye and, even though I wasn't crazy about spending $8.99 when I already had another option at home, I was intrigued enough to make the purchase anyway. We ended up making the pizza in the oven when I got home. After trying it, I have to say it is one of my favorites. One of the things, in particular, that really stood out for me when it came to this pizza was the toppings. The combination of sausage and cheese curds was both unique and delicious, especially since the curds were fresh enough to still squeak when we were eating them. My Thoughts - Star Trek: The Devil in the Dark (1967)

Synopsis: Captain Kirk ( William Shatner ) and his crew arrive at a mining colony that has been under attack by an unknown creature that has also stolen a vital piece of equipment that will cause the colony's nuclear reactor to explode if not restored. Kirk orders his crew to kill the creature on sight because of its proven aggression, but Spock ( Leonard Nimoy ) believes there is more to the story. My Thoughts: As far as Star Trek episodes go, this one is kind of predictable. OK, we have a creature that begins attacking miners without apparent provocation soon after they find unidentified objects that look a heck of a lot like eggs. Hmm... I wonder why the creature is so angry? Episodes like this make me wonder why Kirk is considered the hero. The kill on sight order with zero information about the creature and why it was attacking seemed like something the villain general would do in a science fiction movie, not the main protagonist. My Thoughts after Re-Watching The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)

We are waiting for our youngest daughter to get done with work and, after failing to find a new movie that looked interesting, my wife and I decided to just watch a classic horror film we've seen before. This ended up being The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which I haven't seen (at least not in its 1974 form) in nearly a decade. Here are my thoughts after seeing it again: This movie was duller than I remember. I think a big part of that was the violence being surprisingly tame, especially by today's standards. Most of the violence is filmed in a way that keeps things from being too violent. However, it also took longer than I recalled for things to get going and even then, there's quite a bit of downtime between the kills. Plus, for a film that promises a chainsaw massacre, there isn't a whole lot of chain sawing. It might as well have been called the Texas Hammer Massacre because that was Leatherface's ( Gunnar Hansen ) preferred weapon of choice for a good chunk of...
