Pelican Pair

The lake was pretty choppy when I went for my walk along the shoreline this morning and, as a result of that, there weren't many critters out on it.

I did, however, see this pair of pelicans and, even though the waves made it kind of difficult to get them in focus, managed to get a photo of them as they swam by me.

Kwik Trip Kitchen Cravings Tailgater Pizza

  When my wife and I decided on pizza for dinner last night, I stopped at Kwik Trip with the intention of just buying a cheap, frozen, cheese pizza for our daughters since we already had another pizza in our freezer. However, as I was walking up to the checkout counter, this particular pizza caught my eye and, even though I wasn't crazy about spending $8.99 when I already had another option at home, I was intrigued enough to make the purchase anyway. We ended up making the pizza in the oven when I got home. After trying it, I have to say it is one of my favorites. One of the things, in particular, that really stood out for me when it came to this pizza was the toppings. The combination of sausage and cheese curds was both unique and delicious, especially since the curds were fresh enough to still squeak when we were eating them. Lunchtime Walk Photos (8/19/2026)

I wasn't sure how wet the trails would be after the rain we got last night (or how many mosquitos would be out). However, they turned out to be manageable, and I was able to get my walk in today at lunch. I wasn't able to get photos of them because they were underwater, but the snapping turtles were swimming around near the shoreline, which was kind of cool to see. I did manage to get photos without them though. Some of them are below: I haven't had a ton of success with bee photos this year, but this was one of the better ones I've gotten. There were plenty of dragonflies buzzing around while I was watching the snapping turtles swimming, so I got a few photos of them. The snapping turtles stayed underwater but there were plenty of others that were out sunning themselves. My Thoughts - Stuart Fails to Save the Universe: Spoiler: Stuart Makes a Wallet (8/13/2026)

Synopsis: The device transports Stuart ( Kevin Sussman ) to a mental hospital where his psychiatrist, Amy Fowler ( Mayim Bialik ) works to convince him the alternate universes were just inside his head. He is cured and returned to Denise ( Lauren Lapkus ) and their two kids. However, while he seems to have a happy life, there are clues warning him it isn't real. My Thoughts: This was, by far, the weirdest episode yet but I liked it. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I love a good mystery, and this episode had multiple. There was the mystery about where he was, the mystery about who was trying to warn him and the mystery about why his friends seemed to be accepting their perfect reality without question. The last one is never given an answer, other than maybe Stuart is immune because of his connection with the device. The episode seemed to be setting up a larger storyline.
