Lunchtime Walk Photos 7/30/2024

I haven't been getting out at lunch as much as I'd prefer, both because of uncooperative weather and because of very hungry mosquitos. However, I did get out today, braving the humidity and bugs, and got a few photographs. Here are some of them.

Kwik Trip Kitchen Cravings Tailgater Pizza

When my wife and I decided on pizza for dinner last night, I stopped at Kwik Trip with the intention of just buying a cheap, frozen, cheese pizza for our daughters since we already had another pizza in our freezer. However, as I was walking up to the checkout counter, this particular pizza caught my eye and, even though I wasn't crazy about spending $8.99 when I already had another option at home, I was intrigued enough to make the purchase anyway. We ended up making the pizza in the oven when I got home. After trying it, I have to say it is one of my favorites. One of the things, in particular, that really stood out for me when it came to this pizza was the toppings. The combination of sausage and cheese curds was both unique and delicious, especially since the curds were fresh enough to still squeak when we were eating them. The pizza also proved to be surprisingly filling, both because of the thicker crust and the generous amounts of toppings and cheese.  Normally, when ...

Movie Review: The Slumber Party Massacre (1982)

Synopsis: A high school sleep over takes a dark turn when a serial killer wielding a power drill begins stalking and killing the guests. Who's in it? The movie stars Michelle Michaels , Robin Stille , Michael Villella , Andree Honore and Gina Smika Hunter . Review: I was in the mood for a horror movie last night and, after rejecting a few other choices, decided to watch this film. I wasn't really sure what to expect from it and had lowered expectations as a result. Unfortunately, the movie was worse than I feared. Let's see, how do I put this? If you like movies that have a bunch of random scenes featuring half naked women, it's worth watching. However, as a horror movie, this film really does lack something. One of my biggest problems with the film (other than the excessive gratuitous nudity that seemed to take up half the run time) was how it revealed the killer from the start. This, in all honesty, just made the movie a way too predictable for me. Movies like this...

My Thoughts from the Green Bay Packers at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (10/4/2026)

Here are my thoughts from today's 17-14 Green Bay Packers win at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers: The offensive line showed noticeable improvement.   It took bringing in multiple veteran players this past week, but something was clearly different. Jordan Love had time in the pocket rather than running for his life almost every snap. It was good to see the team finally commit to the run game too. Losing Chris Brooks early was unfortunate, as was the Kaleb Johnson fumble, but the team managed to have some big runs which opened up the passing game by forcing the Buccaneers' defense to respect it.  A lot of the same issues still persist though. Green Bay had double-digit penalties again as well as some key drops by the receivers. There were two more late-game fumbles, including the one lost by Johnson and another Love interception, all of which kept the Buccaneers in the game until the end. They aren't going to win many games against better teams if those don't get cleaned up. Tuc...
