We Took the Girls to See the Fireworks Last Night

We didn't attend any of the other Beaver Dam Lake Days activities this weekend, mostly because of a lack of funds, but my wife and I kept her promise to the girls and took them to see the Saturday night fireworks.

Last year, we discovered we could see the fireworks from one of the downtown parking lots. This has some perks because it means we don't have to fight for a spot to sit and deal with bugs. That's where we ended up again last night as a result and we were able to see just fine. And, overall, I thought they were very entertaining (better than they have been some other years).

My biggest complaint about them, however, is they were supposed to start at 10:10 p.m. and, instead, they were started a little before 10. We ended up missing part of them as a result of this and, considering the fireworks display is only about 20 minutes in length, I'm sure there were plenty of other people who did miss them. This isn't the first time that has happened, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. But, you would think they would figure out starting them early is as inconvenient for people as starting them late.

Synopsis: After running up a ton of student loan debt as an art history major, Ana's dreams of owning her own gallery hinge on being able to make an impression with her new boss, Claire, at a prestigious auction house. Kwik Trip Kitchen Cravings Tailgater Pizza

  When my wife and I decided on pizza for dinner last night, I stopped at Kwik Trip with the intention of just buying a cheap, frozen, cheese pizza for our daughters since we already had another pizza in our freezer. However, as I was walking up to the checkout counter, this particular pizza caught my eye and, even though I wasn't crazy about spending $8.99 when I already had another option at home, I was intrigued enough to make the purchase anyway. We ended up making the pizza in the oven when I got home. After trying it, I have to say it is one of my favorites. One of the things, in particular, that really stood out for me when it came to this pizza was the toppings. The combination of sausage and cheese curds was both unique and delicious, especially since the curds were fresh enough to still squeak when we were eating them.
