Review of Velveeta Lasagna with Meat Sauce Cheesy Bowls


Normally, I try to bring my lunch with me from home. But, I just wasn't in the mood to do that this morning (I even told my oldest daughter I would pay for her to have hot lunch at school for the first time this year) and decided, instead, to just pick something up after my walk.

I ended up going to Kwik Trip before returning to the office with the intention of picking up one of their burgers. However, when I got there, that section had already been picked clean and, since I didn't have time to wait for them to bring out some more, I ended up looking for an alternative. After a lot of consideration, I wound up buying this product for $3.59.

When I purchased this item, I really wasn't sure what to expect from it. I've had similar products in the past and very few (actually, none that I can think of at the moment) were very good. However, I made this when I got back to the office and, overall, I thought it was a decent purchase.

As far as convenience goes, I have no complaints. All I had to do to make this item is remove it from the box, open the lid, microwave it for 1 minute and add the cheese. You really can't get much easier than that. And, unlike quite a few other products I've purchased, it really was fully heated in a minute as the box claimed it would be. I didn't have to put it in longer.

I wasn't overly crazy about the flavor of the tomato sauce. It was OK. But, I thought the seasonings tasted a little "off." In other words, there was no way I wasn't going to mistake this for something that didn't come from a box. Fortunately, the cheese sauce packet I had to add to it helped offset some of that flavor.

One thing that really surprised me about this product was how filling it was. It didn't look like that much when I made it. However, it proved to be a relatively satisfying lunch. Sure, a burger might have been more filling. But, overall, I think this product did exceed my expectations, both in that category and most others as well. And, I would consider purchasing it again.

Kwik Trip Kitchen Cravings Tailgater Pizza

  When my wife and I decided on pizza for dinner last night, I stopped at Kwik Trip with the intention of just buying a cheap, frozen, cheese pizza for our daughters since we already had another pizza in our freezer. However, as I was walking up to the checkout counter, this particular pizza caught my eye and, even though I wasn't crazy about spending $8.99 when I already had another option at home, I was intrigued enough to make the purchase anyway. We ended up making the pizza in the oven when I got home. After trying it, I have to say it is one of my favorites. One of the things, in particular, that really stood out for me when it came to this pizza was the toppings. The combination of sausage and cheese curds was both unique and delicious, especially since the curds were fresh enough to still squeak when we were eating them.
