More Lunchtime Walk Photos 9/7/2017

Other than the baby turtle, I was actually a little disappointed in my walk today. I've been in a bit of a batting slump when it comes to photographing birds. Yes, I can get decent shots of larger ones, like herons and pelicans. But, I've been struggling to get a good photo of some of the smaller birds I've seen.

Today, for example, I had some beautiful finches hopping around in a tree I walked pass and a hummingbird just a few feet in front of me on one of the paths. But, I just could not get them in focus when I tried to get a shot of them and, more often than not, couldn't even get them in frame.

Fortunately, I was able to get a few other photos while I was on my walk. The best of them are below:


Yes, he is missing a wing.


I'm really not sure what kind of caterpillar this is. If you know, please say so in the comments section.

I really wish I had a re-do with this one. If I would have spotted him sooner, I could have gotten closer.



I have no idea how he flies with such tiny wings.

    Really love these pictures..they are so cool...like the caterpillar even tho I don't know what kind it is...& the little guy (groundhog?) he looks like hi's taking a picture too! lol Poor dragonfly tho, missing a wing...I really look forward to seeing what you come up with in your pictures...I always love them & they always make my day....ty

Kwik Trip Kitchen Cravings Tailgater Pizza

  When my wife and I decided on pizza for dinner last night, I stopped at Kwik Trip with the intention of just buying a cheap, frozen, cheese pizza for our daughters since we already had another pizza in our freezer. However, as I was walking up to the checkout counter, this particular pizza caught my eye and, even though I wasn't crazy about spending $8.99 when I already had another option at home, I was intrigued enough to make the purchase anyway. We ended up making the pizza in the oven when I got home. After trying it, I have to say it is one of my favorites. One of the things, in particular, that really stood out for me when it came to this pizza was the toppings. The combination of sausage and cheese curds was both unique and delicious, especially since the curds were fresh enough to still squeak when we were eating them.
